The Whitehouse on Flickr

Not something I thought I would ever see, much less see updated so consistently.
The Whitehouse has a flickr page.
Though sometimes the pictures seem a little mundane and boring, you can catch a glimpse of the day to day life of the Obamas through the lens of a camera that is just as normal as our cameras.
The pictures themselves are mostly amateur and rough but occasionally you can find a gorgeous shot in amongst all the clutter.
I think it's pretty cool that the whitehouse has done this, trying to stay up to date on the goings on in the world, but also, it keeps them connected to a demographic that is otherwise (statistically speaking) uncaring and anti-politics.
Thanks Obama!

I <3 Strangers

So, this guy who lives in Denver decided to take on the task of photographing a stranger every day for a year.
The results are pretty cool.
He has a good eye for lighting and backgrounds for his pictures, so you get a cool picture of a random stranger.
And then, you get his story with it. How he came to find them, how many strangers he asked that day, and sometimes a story about who that stranger is and why they decided to stop and be his stranger for the day.
Check it out.
He's been doing it since September of last year.
